[CURRENTLY WATCHING] New Girl TV Series (2011-2018)

I have a new obsession (I’ve been using this word a lot lately lol) New Girl is about a very optimistic and peculiar girl moving in with three different guys as a roommate in a Los Angeles loft.

From left to right: Schmidt, Cece, Jess, Nick, and Winston

This is such a fun and awkward series to watch. Their comedy makes you want to cover your eyes because of how embarrassing and weird their characters are. Especially, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) one of the 3 guys in apartment 4D. A metrosexual kind of guy, and can be overly passionate at everything that he likes. While, Nick (Jake Johnson) is the complete opposite, a college drop out law student turned bar tender. Usually, described by his roommate as a guy with no direction and doesn’t take care of himself. Winston, (Lamorne Morris) is a failed international basketball player, and bad with conversing with girls. Jess (Zooey Deschanel) is the New Girl in apartment 4D, she’s a teacher who got dumped by her cheating boyfriend. She changes the dynamic in the loft, which I’m not really sure if it is for the better or something. Oh, and also we have Cece, (Hannah Simone) Jess’ gorgeous model best friend. Throughout the show so far, she and Schmidt are an item but they kind of have of an on and off open relationship which sort of frustrates me (I want them to be together).

I haven’t finished this series yet, I’m actually just on season 2 out of 7. And so far, I’m so invested. Zooey Deschanel (Jess) is so funny and adorable to watch, her character is gullible and kind of ditzy which adds to the cuteness of her character. This show is just so good, so far. I love how the 3 guys respect Jess as their roommate, it doesn’t make you feel awkward because a girl is living with 3 guys. They were actually really protective towards Jess.

I have yet to finish this series but I am so eager to share it with you guys already. I also found out (a little trivia) that this series inspired one of the household characters in Sims 4 (Roomies Household).

I recommend this to anyone, who enjoys comedy shows. 😊

Has anyone watched it already? Don’t spoil it to me though 😄

“If you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all”

Game of Thrones ended a day ago, what do you guys think? Not much spoilers here don’t worry.

I think GOT ended right, it was a bit rushed I must say but the ending was just right. But this is not a reaction kind of post, this is about how the “fans” reacted to the writing of Game of Thrones Season 8 in short this is a rant post.

Everybody had big expectations for the last season of Game of Thrones, well who wouldn’t have big expectations on the most popular show that there is right now? Lots of things are expected; wars and character developments are much expected for the season. Everybody has their opinions and theories of how the show should go and the thing is there are writers on the show that worked hard to give the “fans” a great show but sadly it was unappreciated.

Yes, we all have theories and “great” ideas how the show should be but I hope at least the people open their minds to see and understand why it was shown that way. In this season, we didn’t see what we expect to see because this show is unpredictable, you should go back and think that we didn’t expect Ned Stark to die at the very first season, we didn’t want that but it made sense. Season 8 made sense especially how it ended. But silly avid “fans” think they’re much greater than the actual writers of the show, I feel sorry for the writers and for the whole cast and crew. They don’t deserve to have these so-called fans where they have to petition to redo the whole season. You know how you work hard for something and then people will slam it on your face and say “redo your work”, “I hate it”. It’s disrespectful. I guess people thought too much of the show, I guess Game of Thrones got too mainstreamed that opinionated people became a “fan” and thought this was a great opportunity to voice out their criticisms towards the show just to feel “power” that they have been a fan ever since and they deserve more from the show.

My whole point in this post is that it is okay to voice out opinions but empathy and kindness should still be greater than anything. Constructive criticism is okay just as long it doesn’t make the person doubt their skill. Never make people feel stupid and bad for what they were so proud that they have created.

My Favourite TV Show Ever………F.R.I.E.N.D.S

If you’re like me born in the early 90s or even later you would have grew up watching FRIENDS, which for me is hands down the best show ever.

Now if for some reason you were living under a rock from 1994 to 2004 I am going to give you the back story and the reasons why I love FRIENDS & why if you haven’t seen it you MUST.

FRIENDS is based on six characters Ross, Chandler, Joey, Monica, Rachel & Phoebe all in their mid 20s who live in Manhattan & the show revolves around their lives going through break-ups/make-ups, family drama, horrible dates, heartbreak and all the rest that comes with being in your 20s.

After Rachel Green (played by Jennifer Aniston) runs out on her wedding day and seeks out her childhood friend Monica Geller (played by Courtney Cox) they soon become roommates and with that Rachel joins Monica’s social circle, which includes;

Phoebe Buffay (played by Lisa Kudrow) –  who is a masseuse and musician she is that one in the group and all friendship circles have a Phoebe who is a little weird and out there but your friendship circle wouldn’t be complete without her.

Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer) is Monica’s older brother who works as a paleontologist and had also had a crush on Rachel throughout High School.

Chandler Bing (played by Matthew Perry) Chandler has a sarcastic sense of humor and has a peculiar family history with his mother being a erotic novelist & his father is a gay cross- dressing Las Vegas star.

Joey Tribbiani (played by Matt LeBlanc) is a struggling actor, who loves women but loves food more especially pizza. His famous pick up line “How you doin?” has him never shy of female attention.

The characters each have their own different and unique personalities which are all separately hysterical & endearing and you immediately fall in love with each of them but as a whole they all complement each other which I think is what really made the show what it is. I always felt probably more so now  being older and having re-watched every episode 100 million times (except for the final episode because who wants to re-live the pain of your favourite show ending more than once) that I was going on their journey with them and if something sad or wonderful happened I would be right their having that same emotion that was being shown on the screen through the characters.

FRIENDS was on air for 10 years and to this day is one of the greatest TV shows of all time. I think because it was always so relatable, every friendship group has their Monica, Rachel or Joey and growing up I always looked forward to having my set of FRIENDS to hang out and go through the rollercoaster of life with. No matter what they were going through in the episodes whether it was a new baby, cheating, a divorce, a marriage, break ups/make ups we have all been there and experienced some or all of these things.

For me personally one of my favourite story lines is Ross & Rachel, their love story started from season 1 all the way to the very last episode of season 10. They were on again and off again throughout the whole 10 years of the show and were a couple in the show that despite when they were with other people you always wanted them to get back together cause he’s her lobster.

I think why I love FRIENDS so much and why it’s my go to TV show to put on if I am just hanging out at home etc is because it is so funny and whether I have seen a particular episode 100 times it will still make me laugh my eyes out and I will be happy watching it. No matter if I am having the worse day If i put an episode of Friends on I will instantly feel better.

For me FRIENDS is a 10/10 show and one that everyone should watch but know watching one episode will make you become obsessed with it.

I have included some of my favourite episodes below for your viewing pleasure

Well that’s it for me, I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog post on Joana’s page.
