Lost Writings | 11 – The Dash

THE DASH

When I go to the cemetery I see all these tombstones with names written on them and also written on them are these two dates that seem so important and these two dates represent the day of their birth and the day of their death but in the middle of it is this dash that represents their whole life living it. This line represents their whole existence and looking at it makes me wonder of all the more important dates and stories hidden inside of that line. Like, their first date, first kiss, first heartbreak. In that one short straight line between the day of their birth and the day of their death was their life that I imagined they had fully lived.

I wrote a bunch of poetry back in 2017, it was all over the place. So, I finally retrieved it from my old broken laptop and some were from my old journal pages that I may have forgotten about.

PILE OF MESS

I am starting to lose myself in this big mess

that I created out of all the fragments of

memories and experiences that I stored.

The clutter I made will not clean up itself

unless I pick it all up with my bare hands

but I just stand here as I watch it all piling up.

Lost Writings | 09 – The Monsters

THE MONSTERS

The monsters under our beds are the harsh truths about the world,
lurking in the silence while we’re unaware of their presence.
Until the night comes and they enter our innocent minds,
infesting it with wisdom that is better off not knowing.

Lost Writings | 08 – Time-Filler

TIME-FILLER

Between life and death, there we are with our borrowed time that we use to fill up the days of our existence in this world. And if everything we do is just a time-filler does it matter what we do with the time that we have, that is only going to be taken away in the end? Or it’s only borrowed so we should make the most out of it instead?

Lost Writings | 07 – To Blame

TO BLAME

Brokenness was all I have ever known,
even after all the time that had flown,
it was a misery that I dragged along,
and it was a baggage I have owned.
All my life it was right there,
even at times that I didn’t care.
Now, every time I lose a game,
I’ll always have it there to blame.
